Suspended prepaid users of Zimbabwe’s Telecel network are able to reactivate their SIM cards from today, with a reward also offered.
As a reward for reactivation, the network will give a US$20 bonus for reactivating dormant lines, including an automatic US$10 plus another US$10 for making an on-net call.
Only prepaid subscribers whose lines were suspended after July 1, 2012 are eligible to benefit from the promotion, said the network.
It is not open to those who have completely disconnected their connection.
Ashraf Elguindy, Telecel chief commercial officer, said: “Telecel does not take its customers for granted and where possible we will continue to offer as much value as is feasible from a business perspective.
“Thanks to our focus on customer satisfaction and making mobile telephony affordable more and more people are finding value on our network and this promotion helps drive the desire to reactivate dormant lines.”
Telecel decided to launch the promotion due to the number of subscribers wanting to join the network, many whom have had their lines suspended.
