Foundation announces blogging competition for World Population Day

Glimmer of Hope Foundation has announced a blogging competition for teenagers to celebrate this year’s World Population Day, with the theme “Ending teenage pregnancies”.

The foundation, which focuses on supporting young people primarily in Nigeria, emphasises health, youth, empowerment and entrepreneurship.

“The objective of the competition is to initiate discussion and suggest recommendation from young people about sexual and reproductive health issues within their community, to inspire leadership skills through creative writing among young people in secondary schools and support innovative ideas through creative writing among young people,” the organisers stated.

To enter the competition, the foundation is asking qualified teenagers to write a blog post on the theme “Teenage pregnancy in Nigeria”.

The story must be non-fiction, and can contain a combination of pictures and or video. There needs to be captions with pictures.

Entries need to include a link to their blog or post and email it, with name and address, to [email protected].

Blog posts will be shared on Glimmer of Hope Foundation’s (GLOHF) Facebook page and tweeted on their GLOHF Twitter page within 24 hours during any day working day.

Votes will then be counted by the number of “Likes”, comments and shares on Facebook and re-tweets on Twitter.
