Nigeria’s largest telecoms company MTN Nigeria has told HumanIPO the individual that was shot in Ogun state capital Abeokuta was not an employee of the telecoms company as widely reported in the media.
According to the widely circulated media report, Akeem Usman, a thirty two-year old employee of MTN, was gunned down by a member of a local vigilante group who took him for an armed robber hiding in a residential apartment.
But in a chat with HumanIPO, Funso Aina, public relations and protocol manager, Corporate Services Division at MTN Nigeria, said the victim was not on the staff of MTN.
“Mr. Akeem Usman, was not a staff of MTN,” he told HumanIPO.
