Safaricom moves to reassure customers on M-Pesa delays

Kenya’s Safaricom has reassured its customers normal M-Pesa services have been restored after it was reported the service was experiencing some delays this morning.

The company is cautioning subscribers they might experience intermittent delays following the high traffic resultant from this morning’s outage, which also affected M-Shwari.

Bob Collymore, Safaricom chief executive officer (CEO), expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to M-Pesa and M-Shwari customers. He moved to reassure them that the company’s technical team is working round the clock to ensure a full resumption of normal services.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience that these delays have caused to our customers. I would further like to reassure our customers that despite the delays, their funds remain safe. We continue to perform continuous improvements to avoid these delays in the future,” said Collymore.

In case of any inquiries or clarifications, customers and agents have been advised to call M-Pesa customer support on 234 or email [email protected].
