Microsoft has announced it will phase out Xbox Live Rewards from August, as part of its transition from Points to real currency.
Xbox Live Rewards provides members with Microsoft Points for completing Xbox Live tasks, but the company plans to replace them.
“Since this currency change is impacting the structure of the program, we’re taking the opportunity to make Xbox Live Rewards even better,” Microsoft said in a statement. “You’ll continue to get rewarded for doing the things you love on Xbox Live — just not with Microsoft Points.”
The company have not yet announced the full form of the new service, but said it would announce the news on September 1.
