DHL Express Tanzania has announced the introduction of an electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) service to directly capture customer signatures on screen and will launch by the end of the month.
DHL said the electronic signature (ESIGnature) beats the reason for hardcopy (POD) sheets and provides tracking information and proof of delivery, giving improved visibility of goods movement, leading to a reduction in overheads and faster payment cycles.
The app was developed in conjunction with Microlise, a transport management solution provider.
“There will be no need to call Customer Service… A client can simply view, download, print or email their POD documents either as letters or in table format ,usually within an hour of delivery,” Ahmed Abdi, DHL Express Tanzania country manager, told Daily News.
The SmartPOD app can be downloaded from Google Play and is currently available on the Android platform for Smartphones.
