m:lab and Intel to host app training on Android and HTML

m:lab East Africa, in partnership with Intel, will be conducting a five week training course on developing apps for Android and HTML5 platforms.

The training will see enrolled developers make at least one Android application to be published on stores such as Samsung Apps or Google Play

A statement on the m:lab East Africa blog said: “The training will include concepts of Product Ideation and User Experience to complement the developer’s programming skills for quality app development. After the initial class contact hours, trainers will provide additional coaching hoursto support trainees in their class projects.”

Applicants need to prove experience in Android, Java, and basic HTML and have at least one Android application published on a global app store or available via a web address.

The training costs Ksh 6,000 (US $70), which m:lab says should be paid in cash on the first day prior to the commencement of the training, with half of the amount a refundable commitment fee.

The training will be held from August 5 to September 18 at its training facility, in Nairobi.

The deadline for application submission is July 28.
