OnMobile Global Limited has partnered with MTN Group, with the latter hoping to never use “boring ringtones” ever again.
A specialist in value-added services (VAS), OnMobile has become MTN’s caller ring back tone (CRBT) partner.
MTN customers will receive ring back tone (RBT) services as from next quarter, gradually replacing the service over a period of two to two and a half years in selected areas across its operations in 22 countries.
“This will help MTN to offer a more impactful user experience to their subscribers,” OnMobile Global Limited said.
OnMobile Global offers unique RBT features, including search and discovery options, storefronts and live stream content.
Sanjay Bhambri, chief commercial officer (CCO) at OnMobile Global, said: “This partnership is very important to us and a major milestone in making us undisputed leaders in the RBT realm.”
Pieter Verkade, chief commercial officer (CCO) at MTN Group, explained the choice of partner: “Their (OnMobile’s) understanding of local markets and consumer requirements were game-changers that clinched our decision.”
The telecom company’s model also simplifies the complicated migration of services to adhere to every country’s regulator standards and cross-border network integration.
With recent revolutionising of RBT services, the new collaboration will assist MTN’s 191 million subscribers in seamless transition.
“We hope our customers will never hear a boring ringtone again,” Verkade said.
