The organisers of the 2013 World Cyber Security Conference, scheduled to be held tomorrow in Abuja, Nigeria have announced a postponement as a result of the death of the mother of the Nigerian First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
The postponement notice was contained in a statement issued by Ayo Osinlu, special assistant to the President on media attached to the Office of the First Lady.
“[The event] has been postponed due to the tragic loss of the foster mother of the First Lady, Dame (Dr.) Patience Goodluck Jonathan,” Osinlu stated.
Jonathan was down to speak at the event having been unveiled last week as the International Telecommunications Union’s child online protection champion.
HumanIPO reported on Saturday the 2013 World Cyber Security Conference was being organised by the Office of the Nigerian First Lady, the International Multilateral Partnerships Against Cyber Threat (IMPACT), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and New Horizons Nigeria.
