Virus detection app Instabug is honoured to be the African representative at The Next Web (TNW) Conference USA in New York, according to co-founder Moataz Soliman.
HumanIPO reported this week the Egyptian company was the only African entry selected to be among the finalists at TNW’s Mobile Startup Rally at the conference next month.
Speaking to HumanIPO, Soliman said: “The competition looks tough for sure, we’re competing against 14 of the most bright smart companies all over the world… It’s an honour to be the only representative there [from Africa].”
He added that the Instabug team is hoping the exposure it receives from the nomination will be positive for the African tech community.
“We definitely hope to let the people know more about the region and that there are many good talents and companies there.”
Instabug has already won the MIT Enterprise Forum Arab Business Plan Competition and been accepted into the first Google for Entrepreneurs programme.
The TNW Conference will be held on October 1 and 2.
