Yuppiechef, Kalahari dominate eCommerce awards

South African e-commerce sites Yuppiechef and Kalahari have each been awarded more than one eCommerce award, marking their dominance as preferred online brands amongst customers.

HumanIPO reported last month on the announcement of the eCommerce finalists.

Kalahari received the awards for South Africa’s favourite e-commerce site and the best website usability.

Yuppiechef was crowned the best South African e-commerce site and the site with the best shopping process.

Groupon won the award for the best e-commerce mobile site, while bidorbuy carried the prize for the best customer service.

Takealot was the runner-up in five of the six of the awards categories.

Andy Higgins, initiator of the eCommerce conference, explained the heightened e-commerce traffic leverages the competence in the industry.

“It’s starting to become far more serious,” he said.

The awards were presented for the ninth time this year, with more than 5,000 people voting in a survey to determine the winning brands.
