The latest installment of the WordPress WordCamp will take place at the Cape Town stadium on November 7, bringing together more than 300 small business owners, realtors, photographers, non-profit agencies, bloggers, web developers, journalists and designers.
The event will see WordPress enthusiasts from across South Africa come together to discuss strategies and best practices for WordPress development under the theme “The Business of WordPress”.
“There’s a strong chance many of your favorite websites are powered by WordPress, the free content management system that has empowered millions to create do-it-yourself websites,” said WordPress in a statement.
“All attendees will have the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions, presented by industry professionals, to share ideas and get to know each other.”
South African and international speakers will be featured at the event.
Hugh Lashbrooke, a developer at WooThemes, is heading the coordination of WordCamp, together with a group of Cape Town WordPress volunteers.
The “early bird” tickets, which are limited to 50, went on sale today for ZAR300 (US$30.60). Once the early bird tickets are sold out they will be sold at ZAR350 (US$35.70).
HumanIPO reported in June on WordPress events local to South Africa, following various international WordPress anniversary events.
