Engineers at computer-networking equipment makers Juniper Networks are the highest paid globally, according to a new study, earning more than their opposite numbers at LinkedIn, Google, Yahoo! and Twitter.
Job search site Glassdoor reported engineers at Juniper earn an average of US$159,990, with LinkedIn, Yahoo! and Google second, third, and fourth respectively.
Twitter, which is approaching its initial public offering (IPO), came in fifth, paying its engineers an average of US$124,863 per year, though it is ranked as the most competitive market for software engineers.
Apple came in sixth on the list, with Facebook ninth. The study measured incomes between October 2012 and September 2013.
