MTN wins Best ICT company in Ghana award

MTN Ghana has been named Best ICT Company of the Year at the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) awards ceremony.

The AGI awards is a national event aimed at recognising companies that stand out in their business sectors, providing a platform to help define the highest standards of excellence in business, Ghana Trade reports.

The ceremony, which took place at State House in Ghana’s capital Accra, is the second of its kind to be hosted by the organisation after a similar one last year.

Efua Falconer, corporate communications manager at MTN said: “MTN will continue in its quest to use the latest in ICT solutions in achieving its vision of leading the delivery of bold new digital world to its subscribers.”

The MTN Foundation earlier this month received recognition from the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition Initiative for support towards youth development and empowerment, for increased socio-economic development in the country.

HumanIPO reported on Tuesday the MTN Foundation had set up an ICT centre to serve as a computer training centre for more than 500 visually impaired students of a local school in the country.

MTN Ghana through its foundation has built a total of 22 ICT centres and invested more than US$6.5 million in various community development projects across the country since its establishment in 2007.

Also winning at the AGI award ceremony was Strategic Communications Africa for the Best Business Promotion and Consultancy sector.
