Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 4 in October this year according to the company’s head of sales for East and Central Africa Simon Kariithi.

Kariithi speaking at the PIVOT East conference in Nairobi, Kenya, did not divulge the exact date of the release of the device.

He said apps created by the youth are what have made the smartphone experience what it is today.

“The content that we add to our products is what makes the difference,” said Kariithi.

Kariithi spoke as he ushered in the second category of startups, led by Mafundi, which connects home and office owners with broken items to the best technicians around. GariSMS links car buyers and sellers using SMS, while Sendy is a platform for on-demand errands.

Also presenting was Mavazi, an application that provides an easy way for users to digitally organise their closet and plan what to wear by cataloguing and selecting from their items, and Maramoja, which is dedicated to providing easy, reliable transport services through your mobile device.
