South African ICT provider Pinnacle Holdings’ executive director Takalani Tshivhase appeared in court for the third time yesterday, with the proceedings being postponed once again.
HumanIPO reported earlier this year Tshivhase had allegedly bribed a police officer to secure a ZAR1.6 billion (US$148 million) tender for the company.
Court documents allege Tshivhase offered Lieutenant-General Bonginkosi Ngubane at the South African Police Service (SAPS) ZAR5 million (US$473,000) to secure a tender for Maxid/MaxID, only after more subtle offerings failed.
Pinnacle then announced Tshivhase had taken a leave of absence after the accusations were made public.
The Pinnacle boss appeared in court on March 24 resulting in the case being postponed to July 2.
The matter has again been postponed to September 9 at the request of the prosecution “in order to consider representations that had been made by Mr Tshivhase”.
“The Company will review the matter as further information becomes available and will inform shareholders accordingly,” Pinnacle said in a statement.
