BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) for the Android and iOS platforms has arrived in Africa, following its initial launch at the start of the week.
HumanIPO reported earlier this week on the launch of BBM on other platforms, followed by a 10 million download total within the first 24 hours of release.
The launch follows a BBM release on African Samsung Galaxy devices over the past few days.
Samsung Africa has offered a smart trade opportunity for BlackBerry and other smartphone users, enabling them to exchange their older models for discount on Samsung Galaxy purchases.
BlackBerry has implemented a simple line-up system in order to ensure the high demand is met.
BBM can be downloaded on Android smartphones with Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, as well as iPhones on iOS 6 and iOS 7.
