Microsoft has said it has sold more than two million Xbox One consoles since its launch, catching up with Sony’s PlayStation 4 (PS4).
Reuters reports Microsoft said it had reached the figure within 18 days of the launch of the Xbox One, with HumanIPO reporting last week Sony claimed it had sold over 2.1 million copies of the PS4 in 15 days following its launch, which took place a week before that of the Xbox One.
The Xbox One, according to the software giant, is selling quicker than predecessor the Xbox 360 and has sold out at most retailers, according to Microsoft spokesman David Dennis.
The company claimed last month sales of the Xbox One surpassed one million within 24 hours of its release.
